The World Gymnaestrada week kicks off with the Opening Ceremony. This is a spectacular show at the Olympic Stadium, starting with a unique walking show that begins 2 km away from the Olympic Stadium. Then arriving at the stadium each federation, holding the country’s official flag, will have the chance to introduce themselves with a 30-second act in the form of a team song, dance, singing, etc. The show will last a total of 2 hours, and will be held on Sunday the 30th of July.
This is a performance with a group consisting of a minimum of ten active participants, with no maximum number of participants. A Group Performance lasts 10 to 15 minutes. The performances will take place 3 times in one of the show arenas at the RAI convention centre, from Monday the 31st of July to Friday the 4th of August. The Group Performances are designed to showcase the diversity of ”Gymnastics for All”.
Large Group Performances
This is a performance with a group consisting of at least 200 participants. Two or more countries can unite to make one large group together. A Large Group Performance lasts a maximum of 15 minutes. The performances will take place three times on the Olympic Stadium field, from Tuesday the 1st of August to Thursday the 3rd of August.
A National Performance it the chance for visitors to experience the diversity of ”Gymnastics for All” combined with music and a touch of the nationals culture. We are proud to present to you the national evenings from Brazil, Switzerland, Pan American, Germany, Japan, The Netherlands, Portugal, Italy and the Nordic nations. Each nation offers you 1,5 hours of entertainment and show. The national performances will take place from Monday the 31st of July, untill Thursday the 3rd of August between 18:00 and 22:30 hours at the RAI.
Stages will be set up at 2 different locations in the city where performances will take place from Monday to Thursday. The venues are: RAI and the Vondelpark Theatre. Here, groups will perform their performances outdoors on covered stages.
Here, 20 countries will perform their best acts. Here, every continent is represented and every form of gymnastics is represented. The theme of this FIG Gala is ”Water”. At the FIG Gala, the performances are of a very high level. The show lasts 1.5 hours and will be held on Friday the 4th of August from 18:00-19:30 and 20:30-22:00 CET, and on Saturday the 5th of August from 10:00-11:30 CET.
The World Gymnaestrada week concludes with another spectacular and unique show at the Olympic Stadium. Here, the flag is symbolically handed over to Portugal, the organisers of the 2027 World Gymnaestrada.
Silent Disco - Social Programme
During World Gymnaestrada Amsterdam 2023, there will be an amazing Silent Disco on August 2, 2023! Three DJs will each have their own style, accommodating everyone’s musical tastes. You don’t want to miss this unique experience. During the Silent Disco, it’s time to dance and move with your group to your favorite music using the Silent Disco headphones. With three DJs, you can switch between channels and create your own soundtrack for the evening. The World Gymnaestrada Amsterdam 2023 Silent Disco has two time slots: Time Slot 1: 18:00 – 20:00 Time Slot 2: 21:00 – 23:00
